Launched at the end of 2025, Lissa Lowe led the charge to conceptualize the business, purchase and renovate a small building, ideate and source the product mix, drive the creative direction, develop the brand marketing materials, and upfit the space—in 5 short months!
Housed in an early 1900s miner’s cabin that had primarily been unoccupied over the past five years, it seemed like a fantastic opportunity to breathe new life into this petite space.
With pioneering spirit and aplomb—especially since gold was first discovered here in 1824—we busily got to work to restoring and modernizing this beauty while retaining its charm.
At Draft House, vintage finds blend with new. Intricate objects mixes with simple ones. Craft provisions pair with hand-selected serving wares. Built for making home and making merry, this passion project is full of heart.
Open on weekends, and a stone’s throw from Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, a day trip to Gold Hill is like stepping back into quieter times, and worth its weight in gold.

Part studio, part shop, Draft House is a place for making home and making merry—offering curated goods, custom-fit design, and inspiration for gatherings great and small. Every piece, plan, and provision is chosen by us with care for spaces that feel current yet full of soul and deeply personal.

Conveniently located off of I-85.
Within an hour of Charlotte metro and the Triad, Draft House is easy to visit. Salisbury, Spencer and the lake communities of Tillery, Badin and High Rock are 20 minutes away. There are many things to do and places to see nearby including trails, picnicking, horseback riding and water activities.
